OSLOVE Film Festival presents the documentary film "Soufra", where we meet a group of female refugees in Lebanon who take life into their own hands and start a catering company from a van. This is a feel-good film about a serious topic, that still manages to give the audience hope and joy.
We start the evening with a big get together dinner at Vippa! Around long tables we share food from the Middle East prepared by Aleppo Bahebek, and get to know each other, before the film takes us to the refugee camp south of Beirut. We are excited to announce that the director of the film, Thomas Morgan, will be in Norway to present the film himself!
After the film local refugees in Norway share their stories and engage with the audience about how it was for them to come here, to us, to Norway, as refugees. We will also have organizations with us that give us an update about the situation in and around Syria now, and tell us what the audience can do to help out. As night falls, we plug in the loudspeakers and invite local refugees to entertain with their music and create a cozy and fun atmosphere. This is a night in which we hope for many friendships across borders to bloom!
